Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Keagan Buchanan says he is no longer tentative about contact situations after making his return from an eight-month layoff.
Buchanan, who has recovered from a knee injury, recently played in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge as well as in a friendly against Botswana’s Township Rollers last weekend.
He will see further game-time in the annual Macufe Cup on Sunday against his former side Bloemfontein Celtic at Free State Stadium (kick-off: 15h00).
“Especially in the MDC, you have some young guys, they see you and they want to impress – I went past quite a few tackles. So that’s now out of my mind,” Buchanan told his club's website.
The 25-year-old is looking forward to taking on Phunya Sele Sele, where he spent three years after spells at Winners Park and FC Cape Town in the National First Division.
"The game will give me a platform to see where I am in terms of fitness and touch of the ball. It’s special to be back, it’s emotional as well.”
Buchanan also has faith he will match expectations at Chiefs following his off-season arrival from Celtic.
“If I play my game, I shouldn’t have a problem to succeed at Chiefs. For sure, there is pressure, always is. However, I am confident in my abilities.”
