Steve Komphela speaks highly of Michelle Katsvairo

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela believes new striker Michelle Katsvairo’s hard work is starting to pay off.

The Zimbabwean netted his first goal for Amakhosi against Free State Stars last night, taking one touch to control George Lebese’s first-time pass into the box and finishing at the neat post via a deflection.

It doesn’t matter how they go in, as long as they do, and Komphela believes getting off the mark will provide the player with the lift he needs to kick on to even better performances.

“I’m happy for Katsvairo, he’s been working very hard,” Komphela told SuperSport after the 2-0 victory over Stars.

“He’s got touches, he can play with a defender on his back, he knows how to spin the ball, he gets into the right areas…

“Now a goal will be a boost because you know how strikers are, they can make great runs, they can create and make, but up until they take it they are never satisfied.”

Chiefs now enter a two-week break from club football and are only back in action on October 15 when they host Ajax Cape Town at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
