Thuso Phala backs SuperSport United to challenge for all remaining silverware this season

Posted: 28 September 2016 Time: 13:54

SuperSport United winger Thuso Phala remains confident that with their current personnel they will be competitive in all competitions this season.

Even though Matsatsantsa have won only one game – against Maritzburg United – so far this season, Phala insists that their bumpy start to the season has not affected their chances of gaining momentum going forward.

"I personally think we have a squad that will challenge for everything," Phala confidently tells

"It's not like we are putting ourselves under pressure, but I believe we've got a coach and the players to go all the way, and I'm confident enough that, come end of the season, we will be up there challenging [for the league title].

"We will be challenging for all the trophies that are available to be won, and we're going for everything there is to play for."

Though they were eliminated from the MTN8, after going down to finalists Mamelodi Sundowns in the quarter-finals, Phala reiterates that they can certainly still lift the two cups and league crown this season.

"There's still the Telkom Knockout Cup left, Nedbank Cup and the league and we are going to challenge for all of them," he concluded.

The Tshwane side, who have been hit by injury with almost ten players out at the moment, will be also missing veteran defender Morgan Gould due to suspension, when they take on Golden Arrows tonight.
