Ajax Cape Town defenders Rivaldo Coetzee and Mosa Lebusa will have scans today on their respective hamstring injuries.
The pair sustained knocks in the 1-0 defeat to Cape Town City at Cape Town Stadium on September 23.
Coach Roger de Sa initially feared they could be out for a minimum of two weeks, casting doubt on Coetzee's availability for Bafana Bafana's opening World Cup qualifier with Burkina Faso in Ouagadougou on October 8.
Ajax have since confirmed a decision on whether to withdraw Coetzee from the national team squad will be made after his scan.
The club said on its website: 'His hamstring strain sparked initial fears that Coetzee would have to be withdrawn from the national team squad. A decision, however, will only be made after the scans are completed and only once the club’s medical team is able to receive further information on the extent of each hamstring pull.'
The Urban Warriors next face Kaizer Chiefs on October 15.
