Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral sung the praises of long-serving defender Happy Jele subsequent to their game against Cape Town City.
The match, whilst not exactly going Pirates' way with the final result 0-0, was a landmark occasion for Jele whose appearance marked a decade playing for the Buccaneers.
The 29-year-old made his first official appearance for the Soweto giants on 20 September 2006, against Maritzburg United.
Yesterday KickOff.com paid tribute to Jele's remarkable achievement prior to the game and his Turkish-born coach took the time after the encounter to compliment the milestone.
“That is special. Happy is a special player – I could see that from the first minute I played with him. But he needs more game-time," said Ertugral.
"So he forms part of our defensive line, which for me is very successful. But the midfield needs to help, to be in certain positions when we’re under pressure. So there are small details, which up to now, we have been unable to decode enough. So that’s the challenge we now have.
“But he's shown what a type of player happy is – he is a gentleman, a great player, and I’m very, very happy to have him around me and his contribution to the team."
