Chippa United coach Dan Malesela pleased with Bongani Ndulula

Chippa United coach Dan Malesela is happy with the progress made by striker Bongani Ndulula at training.

Ndulula is yet to play for United after being signed during the off-season, with the Chilli Boys having placed the former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates striker on a special fitness program after arriving at the club overweight.

Yet Malesela is confident that Ndulula will be back in action very soon.

"There is still some more work to do, but we hoping that very soon, he will be fine,” said Malesela.

"But he is working very hard at training.”

Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys coach is hoping that fellow striker Rhulani Manzini will be back sooner than expected, after initially being ruled out for six weeks with a broken toe.

“It’s not conclusive [that he will be out for six weeks],” he said. “We are still waiting on the final findings from the doctors - there is a chance, if they operate, that it might be quicker.

"So we have to wait and see. As we stand, we have prepared ourselves for a minimum of six weeks.”

Chippa next face Mamelodi Sundowns in their second-leg MTN8 semi-final showdown on Wednesday.
