MTN8 semi-final suspensions: Moeneeb Josephs out, Xola Mlambo returns

Posted: 16 September 2016 Time: 12:50

Moeneeb Josephs will serve the second of his two-match PSL ban this weekend as Bidvest Wits travel to the Mother City for their second leg MTN8 semi-final showdown against Cape Town City.

The experienced shot-stopper is the only player suspended for the tie, having received his marching orders in the first leg after striking opponent Roland Putsche in the face.

South African national team gloveman Darren Keet is set to don the number one jersey in Josephs’ absence, having kept a clean sheet midweek in the Students’ goalless league draw against Polokwane City.

Meanwhile, Xola Mlambo – signed from Chippa United in the off-season – is once again available for selection following his red card in the 2-1 quarter-final win over Orlando Pirates.

Wits take a healthy 3-0 first-leg advantage into Saturday evening’s tie at Cape Town Stadium, following first-half goals by Eleazar Rodgers, Elias Pelembe and Gabadinho Mhango at Bidvest Stadium last weekend.

Kick-off is set for 20:15.
