Lehlohonolo Nonyane: Golden Arrows learnt lessons

Golden Arrows defender Lehlohonolo Nonyane admits their 2-0 win over Cape Town City last night was inspired by their defeat to Orlando Pirates last week.
Abafana Bes’thende suffered a heavy defeat in their first match of the season when they lost 3-1 against a red-hot Pirates, a result Nonyane feels came about because they did not take their early chances.
Nonyane says Arrows were not prepared to repeat that mistake against City.
“Yeah, it [missing chances against Pirates] definitely did [open our eyes] because you learn from your mistakes in football,” Nonyane tells KickOff.com.
“Against Pirates it was a game of two halves. We created chances in the first half but we couldn't covert them and Pirates got their chances in the second half and scored them, that was the only difference.
“But yesterday was a nerve-wracking game because me and the Cape Town City guys knew each other's strengths since we are former teammates, and it was a good game of football. I'm glad our plan worked on the day.”
The 29-year-old says although they are happy with last night’s win, they have a big task of carrying on from where they left off if they want to win something for their fans.
“We are happy because yesterday we managed to put a smile on our supporters’ faces by getting them three points. I’m sure we will bring them another three points in our next game.
“We just need to carry on from last night’s performance. One piece of silverware this season would be great,” he concludes.
