SuperSport, Chippa fail to score

Posted: 14 September 2016 Time: 19:11

SuperSport United were held to a goalless draw by Chippa United in an Absa Premiership clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday night.

Chippa United had to make do without the recently injured Rhulani Manzini while the hosts were looking to bounce back from a defeat to Platinum Stars in their Absa Premiership opener.

Dan Malesela's charges looked full of confidence in the early stages of the season and goals were expected in this encounter, but none were forthcoming after 90 minutes.

However, the game did not live up to its billing and failed to produce any goalmouth action in the first half, with Malesela even making a double substitution in the 37th minute, removing Buyani Sali and David Zulu for Menzi Masuku and Lerato Manziie.

Kingston Nkhatha and Jeremy Brockie both missed clear chances for Matsatsantsa in the second half, with the New Zealand striker also missing a chance to seal the points in the dying moments.
