Chippa United suffer Rulani Manzini injury setback

Posted: 13 September 2016 Time: 15:01

Chippa United striker Rhulani Manzini has been ruled out for six weeks with a foot injury.

Manzini, who has scored three goals this season, fractured his fifth metatarsal in a 0-0 draw with Mamelodi Sundowns in the MTN8 semi-finals on Sunday afternoon. Tshwarelo Bereng replaced him after the interval at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Manzini will miss the return tie with Downs, as well as league matches with SuperSport United tomorrow and Baroka FC on September 28.

Chilli Boys physio Mark Anderson said: “We are not 100 percent sure at this stage if it is a new fracture, or the same bone as last season, or on the original site.”
