Bernard Morrison boost for Orlando Pirates ahead of Ajax Cape Town clash

Posted: 13 September 2016 Time: 12:36

Orlando Pirates newcomer Bernard Morrison is back in contention for tonight's league match with Ajax Cape Town in the Mother City.

The Ghanaian is likely to partner Tendai Ndoro upfront after shaking off an ankle injury sustained in the 3-1 win over Golden Arrows on the opening day of the season.

Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral is poised to make other team changes following a 2-1 loss at Bidvest Wits in the MTN8 quarter-finals on August 27.

The former Ajax boss is expected to hand a debut to goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane at the expense of out-of-sorts Equatorial Guinea international Felipe Ovono.

Justice Chabalala could also be recalled to partner Edwin Gyimah in central defence, while fellow recruits Abbubaker Mobara and Riyaad Norodien are both in line to face their ex-employers.

Kick-off is at 19h30 at Cape Town Stadium.
