Siyanda Xulu awaits call-up from Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela

Kaizer Chiefs defender Siyanda Xulu can't promise when he will return to the senior team, saying that decision rests with coach Steve Komphela.
The 24-year-old, who only featured five times in the league last season, captained Chiefs on Saturday in the 4-0 MultiChoice Diski Challenge rout by Bidvest Wits at Umlazi's King Zwelithini Stadium.
There were huge expectations surrounding Xulu when Amakhosi gave him a five-year deal at the start of 2015/16 as the club sought to ease the departure of star centre-back Tefu Mashamaite.
But things didn't go according to plan for the former Mamelodi Sundowns defender, with poor form and injuries ultimately leading to him being transfer-listed in May.
However, Xulu, who is yet to play in the topflight this season, says he's ready for action but everything hinges on Komphela.
"I can never assure you of anything because at the end of the day it is Steve's decision and the technical team," Xulu said.
"So I can do bad at training and good, at the end of the day it is their decision. I can never say when I will start to play. It would just be an empty promise."
The Glamour Boys next host Platinum Stars in the Absa Premiership at FNB Stadium on Wednesday, with kick-off at 19h30.
Komphela's men lost their opening two games of the campaign in the league and MTN8 to Wits and Cape Town City respectively.
