Bidvest Wits new signing Sifiso Myeni says he is prepared to wait for his 'debut' upon his return to Sturrock Park.
Myeni was booted out at Orlando Pirates following the arrival of new coach Muhsin Ertugral, after a four-and-a-half-year stay at the Mayfair-based club.
The 28-year-old winger had been training on his own for six weeks before completing a deadline day switch to the Clever Boys, and admitted no hard feeling between himself and his former employers.
The Bafana Bafana attacker has since admitted fitness concerns ahead of their MTN8 semi-final first leg at home to Cape Town City on Saturday evening, and understands he is unlikely to play any part in the clash.
"I think for me now it's just a case of working hard, I don't know anything but I obviously haven't done pre-season with the team so I'm not on their level," Myeni told reporters at the club's media day.
"I think the coach will make the best decision, even though he might want me to play, I don't think I'm ready fitness-wise.
"I just need to put out the work and, once I feel that I'm getting to the level of the team, I'll work harder until the coach gives me a chance."
Having watched his new teammates in action in their opening two encounters against Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, the Moroka Swallows youth graduate is motivated to fit in and believes they will do the job against City this weekend.
"The motivation came when I was watching them play," he added. "We have a very good squad, it's just a matter of me fitting in.
"But me, overall, I think the team works hard and that's one thing the coach always tells us, 'if you work hard, everything will follow.'
"So I think the guys will do well over the weekend."
