The Black Stars deputy captain told French newspaper L’Equipe all he wanted to do after hearing the abuse was to get on the next flight and head straight back to Ghana.
“It ruined my career”, Mensah said. “After hearing their voices I only wanted to do one thing, to go home to my country Ghana and forget about all this.”
Mensah had a long career in Italy before moving to France but says Sunday was the first time he has been racially abused. He subsequently went on to pick up a second yellow card in the game and says he takes full responsibility for that red card.
“I should not have agreed to go back out to play”, he confessed. “I did not have my head in the game because I was shocked. Afterwards I took a red card. I think it was harsh because I had not made many mistakes and the referee must have heard what was happening the stands.”

Its a shame how people come in here and display their lowness.
For the KICKOFF EDITOR,all i can say is that we [ the matured minds]would not be suprised to see the day this site would turn into a PORNOGRAPHIC SITE at this rate .
There is just no control in here, cos people are somewhat free to come in here and make irresponsible remarks, and exhibit their stupidity shamelessly.
You can imagine someone saying that he doesnt have time for KICKOFF while at the same time posting the same comment in here !!! WHAT A PARADOX.........
That exposes their level of reasoning.
Hey u kids mentioned here,i think is high time your parents stopped you from jumping into internet cafes and disgracing whatever remains of your heritage in here.
Maybe, just MAYBE the editor of this KICKOFF SITE is amongst these kids ridiculing this site ....
He was abused and redcarded at the same match.
Just like that??
Peace
