That is the word from the player’s agent, Mickey Paiva, who insists that no deal has been struck with the Buccaneers – or any club for that matter.
“It’s just rumours, nothing more,” Paiva says. “He is on loan at Bloemfontein Celtic until the end of the season and is fully focused on that for now – he wants to help them finish well.”
Paiva was non-committal on his client’s next move, insisting he has not had negotiations with any club, but adds that Schalkwyk will be happy to stay at Celtic.
“He would not mind extending his stay at Celtic – he really likes it here. But then he is also open to a return to Chiefs ... there are no issues there.”
Schalkwyk joined Celtic on a loan deal from Chiefs during the January transfer window and has been inspirational in the Free State club’s move off the bottom, scoring a hat-trick on debut against Thanda Royal Zulu.
His deal with Chiefs expires at the end of the season.
