‘Give keepers your backing’

‘Give keepers your backing’

Orlando Pirates communication manager Mickey Modisane has appealed to the club’s supporters to keep the faith in goalkeeping duo Moeneeb Josephs and Senzo Meyiwa, who have come under fire following some high-profile errors.

Fans have been up in arms after Meyiwa’s schoolboy blunder cost Bucs two points against Bay United, before Josephs’ error against on Sunday handed Moroka Swallows a 2-1 win.

Modisane says goalkeeper coach Williams Okpara is working hard with the two and is confident the errors are a thing of teh past.

“There is no goalkeeper in PSL who willingly makes mistakes,” he says. “We have to remember, these guys are only human and will make mistakes. Yes, they have made some simple mistakes, but we urge our supporters to stand by them and give them their full backing. Abusing them will not help anyone.”

Modisane also mentioned that Pirates are set to return to their home venue, Coca-Cola Park Stadium, for the Absa Premiership clash against Free State Stars this weekend. However, they will still be without the likes of Lebohang Mothibantwa, Bennett Chenene and Benson Mhlongo, who are nursing injuries.

I totally disagree with Okpara - Baron is by FAR the best keeper in South Africa… he can organize the wall (Khune cant do that… he has failed in Chiefs & BAFANA with flying colours)… he can position himself well… and hold the ball well (Senzo must ask him to help)… he is good on one-on-one as well (ask the Ajax player – Sifiso… and co)… never panic (Slimkat aka Josephs must speak to him as this dude is his hommi)……….

He knows what he is doing – u don’t panic whenever there’s a corner, free-kick or penalty… if the opponents scores its all about their LUCK and praying before kicking…. Or and Okpara… must just swallow his proud and GO to him for goalkeeping lessons…….

Out of 10 I will give Baron a 9
Ok Khune will be a 7½
That Maz United Keeper 6½
The rest 5
Then the Bucs keepers 2½

no need to go to the media and cry or apologise. the solutions is simple, go to Naturena and ask for help. there is a goalkeeping academy there. tak the trio with (Okpara, Josephs and Senzo.

there is no better option than that...

What do you do when both your kippers commits Primary school errors at this level. NOT Once but too many tyms... sorry not good Enough. Its high tym we invest in another Keeper. We left Marlinn while he was still @ Ajax and went for Grant Johnson who cost us in many ways. I say Go to Platinum stars and buy Sunderlands. he has an idea of whats to be done btwn the POLES...

How can we support these clowns when they have costed us more than 15 points bettween the two of them. we would be sitting at the top of the table by now had it not been for them.
Who ever buy Pirates players, i must say is also not very clever or has no clue what so ever about soccer.

William Okpara wasn't the best goalkeeper himself so the club should look for a qualified goalkeeper coach! Those two clowns must have learned from him just think back the errors Okpara made while still playing!

Chiefs worse defenders in the League. please!!!!

Prof, u cant compare Itu to Baron, there is a huge age difference, that means you can compare even Arendse, gary Bailey, steve crowely, mike anderson, peter balack, banda etc.

compare apples with apples.

Give Itu a chance.

And why was Francis Chansa released? He (Chansa)was comic at times but he is much better compared to Senzo & Moneeb. This time of the season teams need more points than ever before. Blowing hot and cold is not an option..
