KickOff.com has gathered that Jomo Cosmos captain Frederic Nsabiyumva will be staying on at the club after his proposed move to Europe failed to materialise.
Cosmos boss Jomo Sono had lined up a move to Europe for the Burundian following an impressive debut season in the PSL, in which he stood firm at the back.
However, it has now been established that Sono has decided to retain the 21-year-old until the January transfer window.
“There was a move to Europe – in Belgium and Switzerland – that Bra J was working on for Frederic, but he has now decided to put it on hold,” says a source.
Nsabiyumva is yet to play for Cosmos this season as he is waiting for the issuing of his new permit.
The towering defender was also forced to miss Burundi’s AFCON qualifier against Niger yesterday, due to the issue of his papers that are still being handled by the Department of Home Affairs.
Cosmos have also added Nsabiyumva’s countryman Kevin Ndayisenga, while also bringing in the Namibian trio of Hendrik Somaeb, Denzil Hoebeb and Junior Gebhardt for their 2016/17 NFD campaign.
