Cape Town City's new acquisition Thato Mokeke says his main focus is to command a regular spot in Eric Tinkler's starting line-up.
The 26-year-old defender, born in the Mother City, completed a loan move to City last week and says he hopes to excel as he harbours ambitions of once again playing for Bafana Bafana.
"I'm just happy to be back in Cape Town again," Mokeke tells KickOff.com. "My objective is to command a regular spot in the City starting eleven.
"I've also got aspirations to represent my country as well. The last time I received a call-up was in 2012.
"Its four years now that I haven't been involved with the national team but that's because I haven't been playing regularly for my club. That's why I've decided to make the switch in order to play regular football.
"That said, I'm aware that I cannot just walk into the team- I have to prove myself but I'm willing to work hard."
The former Ajax Cape Town player says he is already licking his lips ahead of the Cape derby on September 23.
"It's definitely going to be an emotional encounter, that's for sure. I've got many friends at Ikamva still and it will be an interesting match," Mokeke concludes.
