SuperSport United assistant coach Kaitano Tembo has praised the performance of the 2016 Nedbank Ke Yona team at the Sinaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
SuperSport pipped their amatuer opponents 1-0, thanks to an early goal by experienced defender Mario Booysen.
Though United used the outing as an opportunity to provide their fringe players with some game-time it wasn't all smooth sailing for the Nedbank Cup champions, as the score-line suggests.
Tembo concedes that his side lost shape and organisation at times, which allowed the Ke Yona team to enjoy some good passages of play in the middle of the park.
"I think we settled our nerves a little bit after getting an early goal, but in some stages it also disrupted our play," Tembo told SuperSport TV after the match.
"We were good in some moments, and in some moments we also lost our shape; we lost our organisation.
"But credit to the Ke Yona team. I think they gave us a good run today."
Tembo added that he was pleased with the showing of some of the players who have not really had much opportunities in recent matches, which is the opportunity the match afforded.
"A player like Mario [Booysen} hasn't played much this season. Kingston [Nkhatha], Thabo [Mnyamane], the young Teboho Mokoena and Morne Nel as well.
"They haven't been playing so this was an opportunity for them to get a bit of game-time, and I think we are happy with that," he concluded.
