Orlando Pirates cuts ties with Letsie Koapeng

Posted: 2 September 2016 Time: 11:24

KickOff.com can confirm that Letsie Koapeng’s contract with Orlando Pirates has been terminated and has since failed to win moves to interested First Division clubs FC Cape Town and Cape Town All Stars.

Koapeng trained with both Cape Town clubs last month after being placed on transfer by Pirates, yet a move to the Cape failed to materialise.

The 23-year-old started out with FC Cape Town early last month before proceeding to All Stars where he has left without winning a deal, with the club convinced that they already have what he can offer. Both clubs confirmed to KickOff.com that they chose not to take the option of signing Koapeng.

Pirates have since confirmed that Koapeng is no longer on their books, bringing to an end a spell that started back in September 2014 when he was signed only to then spend most of his time playing in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

Last year Royal Eagles sent him back to Pirates just two months into his loan deal at the club.

Koapeng has been capped at junior international level and previously played for Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic.
