Bloemfontein Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco has confirmed that the club have terminated the contract of defender Thabang Matuka.
Celtic have paid out the player's settlement fee on the remainder of his contract, and have handed him his clearance.
Matuka joined Celtic at the start of last season from Maritzburg United, however, things didn't go well for the left-back when Serame Letsoaka took charge midway through last season.
He was then placed on the club's transfer-list, along with striker Godfrey Massa, who has since signed with PSL newbies Baroka FC.
"His contract was terminated," Konco tells KickOff.com. "And we gave him the settlement on what was left on his contract he initially signed."
Matuka was shifted down the pecking order as the club signed Cheslyn Jampies from Jomo Cosmos and Sbusiso Mxoyana from NFD outfit Vasco Da Gama.
The 26-year-old only featured 15 times for the club last season, with most of those coming under former mentor Clinton Larson, who left to join Golden Arrows in December last year.
