SuperSport United announce Tefu Mashamaite signing from Hacken

SuperSport United have announced the signing of centre-back Tefu Mashamaite from Swedish side Hacken.

The former Kaizer Chiefs captain has penned a two-year contract with Matsatsantsa, with the option of a further year.

Mashamaite previously worked with SuperSport coach Stuart Baxter at Naturena, helping Chiefs claim league and MT8 honours in 2014/15 before heading abroad as the PSL Footballer of the Season.

The 31-year-old scored two goals in 17 appearances for Hacken in an injury-blighted stay in Scandinavia.

The club's sporting director Sonny Karlsson yesterday told Expressen that Mashamaite wanted to return to South Africa because he was homesick.
