Orlando Pirates coach Muhsin Ertugral expressed his dissatisfaction at new signing Abbubaker Mobara's debut in midfield against Bidvest Wits last Saturday.
The South Africa Under-23 star recently returned from international duty in Brazil, where he took part in the 2016 Olympic Games, and made his first appearance in Bucs colours as they lost 2-1 in the MTN8 quarter-finals.
Ertugral was left disappointed by Mobara's display as he did not get stuck in, but explained that the 22-year-old will need time to settle in to his new surroundings.
"No, no, I was not satisfied at all [with Mobara's debut]. He needs to get his feet in," Ertugral told reporters. "He just came back [from Brazil] so we'll see, but obviously I was not happy."
Asked whether he will continue using Mobara as a midfielder as opposed to in defence, where he appeared most prominently for Ajax Cape Town last season as well as in the Olympic Games opener against Brazil, Ertugral responded: "He's a good midfielder; he's played some fantastic games in the midfield so obviously it wasn't easy for him to play his first game in the midfield.
"But in the end we don't have that many options so it was important for us to then put him in so he can win balls back, even though it didn't work out for us that much."
