Modiba, who was part of the Under-23 squad that participated in the Rio Oympics in Brazil, admits that he wasn't expecting a place in the senior national team for the upcoming games.

"I am so happy," Modiba tells KickOff.com. "I didnt expect the call up so soon but it's good to see that what ever I do on the field of play is being recognised."

The Polokwane-born midfielder says that playing on a big stage at the Rio Olympics has prepared him for the task of playing for Bafana Bafana.

"Yes I am ready to count to count on the experiance," said Modiba. "I played in big crowd and best players in the Olympics. I think that experience will help me adjust well in the Bafana Bafana set up."
