KickOff.com can confirm that Franklin Cale has penned a one-year deal at Highlands Park with the option of a further year.

"I'm really excited about my new challenges," says Cale, who went on trial at Highlands after leaving Ajax Cape Town at the end of last season.

"I feel fresh and ready for the season. The club and the people are friendly and they make me feel like I'm at home."

The 33-year-old winger is impressed with the setup at the newly promoted club.

"Things are done very professionally and that is always a good sign for me.

"I know we can secure our status for next season," adds the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United man.

Highlands have also recruited Golden Boot holder Collins Mbesuma, fellow forward Charlton Mashumba and midfielder Thanduyise Khuboni among others for their campaign in the topflight.
