Anele Ngcongca’s agent confirms there is “definite interest” from both the PSL and clubs in Europe but the Bafana Bafana star has yet to receive a formal contract offer in writing.
That interest has yet to materialise into a proposal and Ngcongca’s representative, Mike Makaab of ProSports International, says they are keeping all options open, perhaps even hinting that a stay in Europe is the preferred choice.
“We are looking at both [staying in Europe or moving to the PSL],” Makaab tells KickOff.com. “If the right kind of deal presents itself then we will look at it.
“But he is only 28-years old and has a great CV, and there is definite interest from a few teams in Europe.
“At the moment there are no offers on the table but I can confirm there is interest from South Africa too. We will look at both options if they arise and take it from there.”
Ngcongca became a free agent when he negotiated an early release from his contract with Genk in Belgium having represented the club for the past nine years.
He spent last season on loan at relegated French Ligue 1 side Troyes after a fall-out with Genk coach Peter Maes.
