Chippa United striker Rhulani Manzini has set himself a target of at least 10 goals this season.
The former Platinum Stars man netted four times in an injury-affected 2015/16.
“I scored four goals last season and this season I want to reach double figures, and with the help of my teammates and technical team this is possible,” he told his club's website.
Manzini is aware expectations have been raised at the Chilli Boys after they came sixth in the Absa Premiership last term - their highest ever finish.
“We are already aware that it is not going to be a tough season due to the way we finished last season. We need to double our efforts on the pitch and continue making our fans proud.”
Manzini added of the team's pre-season: “We had lot of players coming in and it was important to know everyone at both social and on the playing field.
“It was also the first time for us to go to pre-season with coach Dan, who told us about what is expected from each and every one of us this coming season.
Dan Malesela's charges will open their campaign against Free State Stars at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth on August 23.
