SuperSport United captain Dean Furman is impressed with the club's new signings, particularly fellow midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane.

Matsatsantsa have recruited PSL stars such as Letsholonyane, Onismor Bhasera and Thabo Mnyamane in their bid to challenge for league honours in 2016/17.

Furman says the team is in good shape ahead of their Absa Premiership opener against Platinum Stars at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on August 24.

"The team is progressing very well," Furman told United's website. "We are working very hard in the build up to the Platinum Stars game to make sure we are ready physically and tactically.

"The new players are settling in very well. In Reeyad (Pieterse), Keegan (Ritchie), 'Bash' (Bhasera), 'Yeye' (Letsholonyane), Cole Alexander and Thabo Mnyamane we have made excellent additions to the squad and we are seeing the qualities they possess every day.

"It is a great opportunity for the new players to spend time on camp with the rest of the squad as it allows us to get to know each other’s games and characters."

The Bafana Bafana international added: "The qualities Yeye adds to the squad go beyond his exceptional ability on the pitch. He has great experience, he is hugely respected by everyone, he is a leader and of course a winner! We are all delighted to have him with us."
