‘Rivaldo Coetzee not for sale’ - Ajax Cape Town tells Mamelodi Sundowns

Ajax Cape Town chairman Ari Efstathiou insists that his star player Rivaldo Coetzee will not be joining Mamelodi Sundowns or any other PSL club.

Sundowns' interest in Coetzee is well known, and this website has now heard whispers that the league champions are preparing to make an offer for Coetzee to come to Chloorkop in exchange for the in-form Wayne Arendse.

Arendse is in his final year with The Brazilians but is yet to be invited for contract extension talks, and has also been the subject of interest from Orlando Pirates.

Young Urban Warriors defender Coetzee had a great game in the Olympic opening match against Brazil last night, and Efstathiou insists he is going nowhere.

“First of all, no-one from Mamelodi Sundowns came to me with an offer for Rivaldo,” Efstathiou tells KickOff.com.

“Even if they did, I wouldn’t sell. Rivaldo is not for sale. I will only sell him to a European team, not in the PSL.

“He is young and one of our best players. Last night against Brazil he proved that he can hold his own against the best players in the world. He is not for sale.”

Ajax are understood to have slapped a R15-million price tag around the neck of the 19-year-old Bafana Bafana international.
