Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lucky Baloyi says the team are keen to build on their CBL Cup victory when they compete in the F.A.M.E Charity Cup on Saturday.
Amakhosi will travel to Polokwane for the inaugural one-day spectacle, which is set to feature Black Leopards, Baroka FC and Magesi FC at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Baloyi says the team have redeveloped the hunger to win, following their recent victory over Orlando Pirates, and are out to restore the pride of their supporters in the new season.
“There is a strong will to win in the team,” Baloyi told his club's website. “The technical team is pushing us hard to be ready for the new season.
"The good thing is that we are willing to work our socks off to restore the pride of our supporters. Everything looks good so far.”
The Mokopane-born 25-year-old also praises the spirit in the team, and promises great things to come.
"The spirit in the camp is at a high. We are there for each other and this augurs well for our chances of great things to come this season," he added.
“We have set ourselves a nice challenge after the Carling performance, and the supporters are looking for nothing else than a win.”
The Glamour Boys face Magesi in their semi-final clash, which is set to kick-off at 13h00, Baloyi is wary of the threat posed by the newly-promoted NFD side and hopes to get the nod in front of his home supporters.
“I watched Magesi play in the past. They are a good side and under their coach Jackie Ledwaba they play good football.
"We have to watch them carefully, as we have to do with any team we meet.
“First things first for me, let me work hard and convince the technical team that I am ready to fight for the team. Then, we can start talking.
"Although, of course, I would like to play in front of my home crowd,” he concluded.
