John Obi Mikel reportedly unhappy over money issues in Nigeria's Olympic camp

A report has claimed that Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel regrets accepting his call-up to the Nigerian Olympic team due to money issues.

Mikel has been assisting with his own money in the funding of the team's pre-Olympic camp in Nigeria, but is said to be unhappy about the increasing burden upon his shoulders.

A source inside the Nigeria Football Federation reportedly told All Nigeria Soccer: "It is not right for players to spend their personal funds for national assignments when there is supposed to be allocation for the expenses. Our sports administrators hate planning.

"Mikel is tired of the whole situation and regretting why he came to join the team. He is also not happy that they players are stranded in Atlanta."

While with Nigeria at the Olympic Games, the 29-year-old is currently missing out on the Blues' pre-season program and could potentially be absent for the opening two Premier League games of the season, against West Ham and Watford.
