Muhsin Ertugral explains why Sifiso Myeni was transfer-listed at Orlando Pirates

The transfer listing of Sifiso Myeni was motivated by the way Orlando Pirates wants to play this season and not because he is a bad player, according to coach Muhsin Ertugral.

Myeni was made available to any club interested in his services last month as Pirates started a process of reshuffling their squad for the new season.

The 28-year-old joined The Bucs from Bidvest Wits in January 2012 while still carrying an injury.

“The team is a living organ. We are always after dynamites. Players are like the stock market exchange and there is a team dynamism,” says Ertugral.

“What we need to see is a certain way that we want to play and in certain aspects we are actually have enough fantastic wing players in the country. When you look at the percentage that we have in the country, not only at Pirates we have a lot of good young players and we just got another one from Ajax which I think is one of South Africa’s most interesting players. So sometimes we also need to give a way and analysing what happened before along with how we want to play a decision was then made. The boy (Myeni) is not a bad player but we also need to open certain spaces for other players to come in,” explains Ertugral.

Pirates are spoilt for choices in the positions that Myeni plays from Mpho Makola, Thabo Rakhale and Thabo Qalinge to new signings Riyaad Norodien, Mahlatse Makudubela, Bernard Morrison and Donald Mokondelela.
