Bidvest Wits circle for University of Pretoria’s Thabo Nemukondeni

Bidvest Wits are believed to be keen on making a move for University of Pretoria winger Thabo Nemukondeni.

Nemukondeni was unfortunate in his maiden season in South Africa’s top flight football after Tuks were relegated to the National First Division via the play-offs.

However, it seems he may receive a lifeline and avoid second-tier football with the Clever Boys showing interest in his services.

"Gavin Hunt wants Nemukondeni from Tuks and has made calls about the player," a source tells KickOff.com.

"This boy came from the ABC Motsepe League and what a season he has had! I'm not surprised that Wits want him. He is a super player with a burst of confidence about him.

"Hunt uses a lot of wingers in his formation as you may have seen in previous years at SuperSport United, with lots of balls floating into the box. This is exactly what Nemukondeni does when he has the ball.”

The 24-year-old scored three goals in seven starts for Tuks, but was unable to rescue the Tshwane side after their dismal play-offs performance which condemned them to the NFD for the 2016/17 campaign.
