SA players abroad: Patosi, Jali, Phete, Claasen, Serero

Ayanda Patosi was on target again for Belgian side Lokeren as they won 2-0 at Deinze on Wednesday in the latest pre-season friendly for the side.

It was the second goal of pre-season for the Bafana Bafana winger, who is the star man of this Lokeren team as he enters his sixth season with the side.

Lokeren begin their Belgian league season away at Sint-Truiden on July 30.

Andile Jali was again missing for KV Oostende as they drew 1-1 at minnows Beerschot Wilrijk. They play their league opener at Genk on July 31.

Midfielder Thibang Phete played for Vitoria Guimaraes B as they defeated AD Fafe 3-1.

There was no sign of Bongani Zungu as he works his way back to full fitness, nor Haashim Domingo, who is to be in the club’s B squad this season.

Daylon Claasen also missed 1860 Munich’s 3-1 loss to Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund after knee surgery.

Thulani Serero is also sidelined with the injury he picked up on national team duty against Gambia last month and missed both friendlies Ajax Amsterdam played on Wednesday.

They drew 2-2 with French Ligue 1 giants Marseille and beat lower league side Beziers 2-0.
