Menzi Masuku insists Chippa United deal is not finalised

Posted: 18 July 2016 Time: 20:04

Despite both clubs confirming it, Menzi Masuku says his move from Orlando Pirates to Chippa United is not yet finalised.

It was recently announced that the national Under-23 starlet would be joining United as revealed by his Soweto club, with the Chilli Boys also confirming the news.

However, Masuku was not one of the new players unveiled at the PE club’s press conference last Wednesday, with the former MulticChoice Diski Challenge star now revealing that the deal is not yet final.

“Nothing is confirmed yet in terms of that [Chippa move], so I’m only focusing on the national team and doing well for the county in Rio,” Masuku tells KickOff.com.

“It hasn’t affected me in any way though. I’m just focusing on the national team for now.”

Masuku adds that going to the Olympics is a dream come true.

“I’m very happy,” he says. “Since day one, we fought very hard with the guys and it has always been my dream to play in such tournaments and show the rest of the world who Menzi really is.”

Owen da Gama’s men played out a 1-1 draw in a friendly against PSL runners-up Bidvest Wits earlier on Monday morning.
