Both Enyimba and Gateway feel they were treated unfairly by referees in last weekend's Nigeria Premier League matches.
Enyimba lost 1-0 to Ocean Boys at Ughelli while Gateway lost 2-1 to Warri Wolves at Oleh.
Enyimba, through its media officer, Tonnex Chukwu claim referee Gambo from Abuja was their nemesis in Saturday's loss.
"We played an entirely new team, but our players held their own well and could have drawn or even won if not for the referee," Chukwu said.
"He denied us a penalty in the 85th minute when Waziri was brought down in the box from behind.
"It is shameful that this match was watched in over sixty nations and it makes a mess of the so called referee's seminar held just before the second round of the league kicked off.
"The NPL and NRA must focus on how to deal with these kill joy referees in our league.
Ocean Boys got the only goal of the match in the 6th minute through Charles Omokaro.
At Oleh, Gateway's Team Manager, Tony Rafiu said he was piqued by the fact that the referee extended the game to one hundred minutes before awarding a penalty to the home side in the 99th minute.
"It is terrible. And the game was live on Super Sports so this shows that our referees have no shame.
"It is a terrible representation for Nigerian football," Rafiu said.
