Ayanda Nkosi is delighted with his move to Orlando Pirates

Posted: 15 July 2016 Time: 23:18

New Orlando Pirates signing Ayanda Nkosi says he is excited to be playing for “one of the biggest teams in South Africa and the African continent” after concluding a three-year deal on Friday.

The 23-year-old arrives from Free State Stars having enjoyed a fine second half of the 2015/16 season after his career had appeared to be in limbo.

He is the second arrival from Stars in Mayfair in two days after Bradley Carnell was signed as assistant coach to Muhsin Ertugral on Thursday.

"I'm very excited that I will be playing to one of the biggest teams in South Africa and the African continent," Nkosi tells KickOff.com, before confirming: "I have signed a three year deal."

Nkosi netted just three goals last season but two of those came against Pirates – a winner in a league clash in February and again in the 4-2 Nedbank Cup quarterfinal defeat in May.

The striker made his PSL debut for Maritzburg United in the 2013/14 season, netting on debut in a 2-0 win over Mpumalanga Black Aces.

But he made just six league starts in two-and-a-half seasons at United, before a move to Stars in January gave him the platform to showcase his talent again.
