Jody February admits he is nervous about battling Itumeleng Khune for game-time at the Olympics.
The two are the only goalkeepers in coach Owen da Gama’s national U-23 squad, with Khune included as an overage player alongside Kaizer Chiefs teammate Erick Mathoho.
The 20-year-old February admits competition will be tough with the hugely experienced Khune around.
“I’m happy. Nervous but happy. Nervous for coming up against Itu. It’s going to be very good competition though. I can learn a lot from him. I’m very confident about the squad. It’s well balanced and I think we have what it takes to make history again,” the Ajax Cape Town goalminder tells KickOff.com.
The South African Olympic side has been paired with hosts Brazil, Denmark and Iraq in Group A of the tournament which will be played next month.
