“Yeah, I’m happy for Anssi. Everyone knew he wanted to be back in Europe and he got a big move to a big club. It opens doors for myself and Brandon and Darren to now claim the number one spot that’s there for the taking,” February tells KickOff.com.

“It’s a win-win for everyone. It’s a good opportunity for myself. It’s going to be up to me how that works and what I put in.”

The national U-23 keeper says he learnt a lot from the departed Jaakkola. “His professionalism and approach to each training [session] and game, that I learnt from him and it will benefit me,” the 20-year old concludes.

Ajax are currently on a training camp in Johannesburg and will return to the Cape next week.
