KickOff.com can reveal that Bidvest Wits have signed South Africa under-23 goalkeeper Kyle Peters on a one-year contract, plus a one-year option.
The former Cape Town All Stars shot-stopper has confirmed the news after returning to the club for their pre-season preparations.
"I was invited to trials at the end of last season by coach Gavin Hunt," Peters tells this website.
"He must have been impressed with my commitment and dedication as I was called back to sign a permanent contract with the club."
The 23-year-old, who was released by All Stars in April due to disciplinary issues, is relishing a possible PSL debut after failing to make a senior team appearance at boyhood club Ajax Cape Town.
"I'm so thrilled as I might get a chance to make my PSL debut this coming season," he adds.
"At Ajax I was promoted to the senior team under Maarten Stekelenburg, but I never got the opportunity [to play an official match]."
Peters has also revealed his excitement at competing and learning from veteran former Bafana Bafana 'keeper Moeneeb Josephs, who he describes as a "legend".
"I'm training with a legend like Moeneeb Josephs, who has played at the highest level.
"I'm learning such a lot from him; he is my inspiration and I hope to fill in his boots," he concludes.
Peters will compete for a number one place at The Clever Boys alongside alongside Josephs, under-20 international Jethren Barr and Thakasani Mbanjwa.
