Nigerian defender James Okwuosa is due to meet Orlando Pirates officials tomorrow to gain clarity about his immediate future.
KickOff.com has confirmation that Okwuosa signed a three-year pre-contract with Pirates as far back as January, but he has strangely not linked up with the club for pre-season despite The Bucs having started training last week.
Okwuosa’s contract with Chippa United expired at the end of last month.
“I am going to be meeting with Pirates, hopefully tomorrow,” he tells this website.
“I have a pre-contract of three years that I signed in January and will be meeting the club for the sake of clarity about certain issues that I have heard. I was meant to have met with them today but I couldn’t because of certain reasons.”
There has been speculation that Pirates might have had a change of mind about the 25-year-old which will force the club to possibly loan him out before he even plays a game for them, or find other means of handling the pre-contract that became effective as of July 1.
