Tefu Mashamaite is in line to make his long-awaited comeback from injury today as Hacken resume their Swedish league season after the summer break.
Hacken will host Hammarby with Mashamaite fit again after almost four months on the sidelines.
But it remains to be seen whether he will start as the former Kaizer Chiefs man admits he is not yet ready for a full 90 minutes.
“It’s been frustrating, but I'm heading back now and will be available the rest of the season,” Mashamaite told gp.se. “I’m 80-90 percent fit. The only problem now is the ‘engine’.
“If I need to I could probably be able to push for 60 minutes. But it's a tough game in which we need people who are 100 percent.
“I don’t want to hurry unnecessarily, I think we have enough ammunition in the team for Saturday's match. So I am committed to being fully fit.”
Mashamaite was injured, ironically, in a cup game against Hammarby in March. His side went on to lift the Swedish Cup title and will compete in the UEFA Europa League this season.
Mashamaite, who was PSL Footballer of the Season in the 2014/15 campaign, joined Hacken in September last year and was a regular in the side before his injury.
