Bobby Motaung promises more signings at Kaizer Chiefs, plays down Bantu Mzwakali link

Kaizer Chiefs manager Bobby Motaung has promised the club will bring in two or three more players, insisting “the window never closes”.

Amakhosi last week unveiled eight new signings at Naturena, yet Motaung says he is already on the lookout for more players he will add to the squad before the start of the new campaign.

“We will be making announcements on two or three more players coming in soon,” he said. “We're just busy with negotiations and other logistical issues.

"The journey of football is funny: sometimes you think having 30 players is good and you find an exceptional player out there and you've got a deal to do, then you do it.

“The window never closes, the issue is having a proper solid squad that is balanced and from there you still look and develop to see where you can add."

Motaung then downplayed speculation linking Ajax Cape Town midfielder Bantu Mzwakali with a move to the Soweto giants.

"If there was any player from Ajax, we would have brought him in already,” he said.

"We had meetings with Ajax before, we have a relationship with Ajax and we would have announced it but no, there's nothing of that nature.”
