Maritzburg United have confirmed that they will not be retaining the services of defender David Booysen and goalkeeper Tawfeeq Salie going into the new season.
Booysen has spent the past six years with Maritzburg after arriving from Ajax at the beginning of the 2010-11 season.
The 27 year-old’s departure is rather surprising considering that he spent the past season playing as a regular at the heart of defence as United survived relegation on the last day of the season.
Salie, on the other hand, has largely been a back-up option during his past three years at the club with the only bit of his game time coming this season.
Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia tells KickOff.com that the two will not be staying put at the club.
“They will all not be with us in the new season following the expiry of their contracts,” Kadodia tells KickOff.com.
Also leaving the club is Thamsanqa Mkhize who has reportedly failed to agree terms on a new deal.
