Highlands Park and Bloemfontein Celtic chase AmaTuks' Mpho Maruping PSL transfer news

Posted: 2 July 2016 Time: 10:00

Highlands Park and Bloemfontein Celtic are vying for the signature of midfielder Mpho Maruping.

Maruping is a free agent after his contract expired with University of Pretoria at the end of last month.

With AmaTuks now in the First Division following their relegation from the PSL – KickOff.com has been told that Maruping is keen to remain in the topflight, and having been one of the better performers for the team it is no surprise his services are in demand.

The 24-year-old has spent all of his four years of PSL football playing for Tuks after arriving from Atlie FC during the season when the Hatfield-based club won promotion to the top tier.

Highlands Park have made known their intentions, while Celtic appear to have the edge in their bid to land the industrious midfielder.

Maruping is dusting off the effects of a knee injury picked up in Tuks' defeat to Highlands on June 11 in the Promotion Play-Offs.
