Bloemfontein Celtic and Baroka FC in tug-of-war over services of Jacky Motshegwa

A tug-of-war is underway between newly promoted Baroka FC and Bloemfontein Celtic for the services of Orlando Pirates midfielder Jacky Motshegwa.

The striker played a very important role last season for the Limpopo side as they won promotion to the Premiership, but Celtic are also keen to have the attacker on their books for next season.

“Yes, the player [Motshegwa] is here in Bloemfontein training with us, he's been here since we started training again, but it seems like [Orlando] Pirates is refusing to release his clearance, and now it seems like he might return to Pirates after all,” says a source at Celtic.

KickOff.com could not get comment from Celtic and decided to contact Baroka's CEO Morgan Mamilla, who had this to say.

“I’m really not sure what's the story with Celtic but what I know is that the player belongs to Pirates. As Baroka, we are still waiting for Pirates,” Mamilla says.

“We've already started training, we are waiting for them to come back to us about the player. But I think they want to assess all their players before they make a decision.”
