South Africa will be in the hat on Friday when the draw is made for the 2016 COSAFA Under-17 Championships to be staged in Mauritius next month.

The Amajimbos will be one of eight nations to compete in the championships from July 23-31.

Aside from the hosts, they will face-off against Madagascar, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles and Zambia.

The teams will be split into two groups each containing four sides, with the top two sides in each pool advancing to the semifinals.

South Africa won the COSAFA Castle Cup tournament in Namibia on Saturday, the region’s senior championships, and are also holders in the Under-17 age-group which was last contested in 2012.
