Accra Hearts of Oak will be looking to take a seven-point lead at the top of the Glo Premier League standings as they take on key title rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko on Sunday.
The meeting of Ghana's two biggest clubs is not exactly a title decider but whoever wins will do their title aspirations no harm at all.
Hearts, poor during the last season have turned the corner remarkably well under Kosta Papic and have a four point lead ahead of Kotoko going into the game that few could have predicted.
Another three points in Kumasi will give Hearts a seven point lead while Kotoko will be seeking to cut the existing four point lead to just one by close of play on Sunday.
It provides the setting for what should be a fascinating game. Hearts have been the more dominant of the two recently in league meetings. And their form this season has given Kosta Papic the belief his side can win.
"I think the football will win and we have played some of the best football this season. We will take to the field in Kumasi very confident of winning," he said.
Pappic is in a much better position than his opposite number Maurice Cooreman. The Belgian has had a difficult stint in charge of Kotoko so far but three points against Hearts and their teaming fans will forget all about the supposed short comings that turned them against him before the halfway mark of the season.
Cooreman can count on the Black Satellites duo Samuel Inkoom and Emmanuel Agyemang Badu who is incredibly yet to play a game for Kotoko after joining on loan at the beginning of the season.
Yet it will be Alex Asamoah, the man whose transfer has generated so much debate who will be the main source of goals for Kotoko. His likely battle with Hearts top defender Daniel Coleman should be one of the highlights of the game.
Kotoko can expect a bumper harvest at the gates given that the game will not be on television following the dissolution of GTV.
The league's loss may be Kokoko's gain but it the three points they desperatly need to save their season.
