Chippa United are mum on whether Kaizer Chiefs striker David Zulu will be joining them on yet another loan deal for the upcoming season.

Zulu spent the last half of the 2015/16 season at Chippa after struggling to cement a place at Amakhosi. He returned to Chiefs at the end of the season but was part of the 20 players deemed surplus to requirements by the club last month, with Amakhosi saying in a statement that, “David Zulu’s loan agreement with Chippa United will be extended for another season.”

However, Chippa United communications manager Luthando Zibeko would not confirm if the player was indeed headed back to the club. “We are not going to make any premature announcements. As a football club now, we are not making any statements on the players that are coming or on the players that are leaving. We are strengthening the team but we cannot reveal any names now, we will do that when the time is right,” he tells

The 30-year-old Zulu joined Chiefs halfway through the 2014/15 season from the Chilli Boys but his time at Amakhosi has been unfruitful so far, with injury also not helping his cause.
