Thabo Nthethe unhappy over unresolved contract issues at Mamelodi Sundowns

Posted: 22 June 2016 Time: 14:32

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Thabo Nthethe’s frustrations are mounting, having yet to finalise his outstanding contractual matters with his current deal nearing completion.

Nthethe has a one-year option on the two-and-a-half-year contract he signed when joining Downs from Bloemfontein Celtic in January 2014.

Yet word reaching KickOff.com is that Nthethe is unhappy that his ‘contractual future’ has remained unresolved up to now, despite the fact that he has continued performing for the club, even wearing the armband in the absence of Ramahlwe Mphahlele.

Sundowns management is well aware of Nthethe’s issues which are causing unrest for the 31-year-old, who was voted the 2015/16 PSL Defender of the Season.

Nthethe is apparently not pleased with how his situation has been handled by the club as the issue of the option was meant to have been long sorted.

KickOff.com has also been informed that part of the trouble has been created by the fact that Nthethe no longer works with his representatives at ProSport International, choosing to handle contractual matters on his own.

ProSport have chosen to refer KickOff.com to Nthethe himself about his situation, but the player is not keen to engage the media about the matter at present.
